Pick up from your hotel in Arusha or Arusha Airport of from Kilimanjaro International Airport depending on your schedule, and you will drive for 2 hours along a nice paved way to Tarangire National Park arriving by mid-morning. After registration at the park’s gate you will embark on your first game drive in this park famous for it’s large elephant herds dwarfed by the huge baobab trees that dot this park at the base of the Great Rift Valley. The Park derives the name form the Tarangire River that runs across the park providing the vital drop of water all through the year and thus ensuring a constant availability of animals in this fifth largest park in Tanzania. Game viewing looking for animals and birds until later in the afternoon then later transfer to Lilac Campsite or other campsite at Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight.

Day 2:Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast freshly prepared by your safari chef at your campsite you depart and drive to the Serengeti National Park, driving through the winding roads up the Rift Valley’s escarpment and traversing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We arrive by mid-morning at Naabi Hill Gate where you will stretch your legs a little bit as your guide goes through the paperwork then you will start on your game drives straight away towards central Serengeti where you will spend the whole afternoon looking for animals until sunset. Late afternoon you pitch camp at Seronera where you can stay at any of the available public campsites. All meals included.

Day 3: Full Day at Serengeti National Park

Early morning game drives in case you are an early riser and then after breakfast leave with your packed lunch and head out to the plains in search of more animals and birds. The safari guide will be in close contact with other guides via VHF radio to locate the best sightings of the day and you will expect to see a lot of animals in the Serengeti including the Big Five of Leopards, Lions, Elephants, Rhinos and Buffaloes but also other large game like hartebeests, topis, zebras, giraffes, as well as predators like cheetahs and the silver back jackals. Serengeti National Park is also home to over 500 species of birds recorded and therefore one of the birding hotspots in Africa. Later at sunset you will do game viewing on your way back to your campsite for a well deserved shower and relaxation at the campfire. Overnight at a public campsite at Serengeti National Park. All meals included.

Day 4:Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

On this morning too you can do early morning game drives if you wish then after breakfast you are off with a packed lunch as you drive out towards Naabi Hill Gate to leave Serengeti National Park with game drives en route. Later in the afternoon you will arrive at your campsite at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater where you will pitch camp for the night. On your way to the campsite you will have an option to visit the Olduvai Gorge and or the Maasai Villages along the way. Olduvai Gorge is a famous archaeological site where the couple of Dr Louis and Mary Leakey (famous archaeologists) discovered the fossils of the hominid; Zinjanthropus  boisei also called Australopithecus Boisei or the ‘Nutcracker Man’ who roamed the plains more than 1.4 Million years ago. Overnight at Simba Campsite at Ngorongoro. All meals included.

Day 5:Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi/Arusha

Early morning breakfast this morning then descend as early as 6.00 Hrs to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater before the crowds, to have better chances of seeing animals both Diurnal and Nocturnal species. You will spend this day at the floor of this world’s unbroken caldera that acts as a natural zoo for thousands of animals and on a lucky day you might even spot the Big Five on this day alone. Apart from the Big five Ngorongoro also is also home to many animals and birds, and with it’s small area of around 21 Kilometers wide the area is feted as the only place with the highest concentration of wildlife per square area. Lunch will most likely be at the famous poolside picnic site then later in the afternoon you will drive back to Arusha where the safari ends.

You will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure back home or onwards travel but you can also be dropped at a hotel where you can spend the night if you wish to combine this safari with another activity like Mt Kilimanjaro climbing, or safari in Southern Tanzania.

This safari can always be combined with a flight to Zanzibar and a beach vacation staying in a hotel or resort that will suit your needs.
